High and Inside, Early Reviews

The supporting blurbs are in for Russell Rowland’s High and Inside (release date, June 15). This is one of our favorite steps leading up to publication…when we start to see our appreciation for a book echoed by our community of respected peers and colleagues.

In addition to Leif Enger’s early blurb, Kim Barnes (author of In the Kingdom of Men), says, “You don’t have to love baseball to love this story about one (aging) boy of summer who is brought to a bittersweet reckoning with his past. I found myself laughing, cringing, and knuckling down…” And Alan Heathcock, author of Volt, says, “…an elegant and potent investigation of community and home, of healing and forgiveness…this wonderful novel is a grand slam of indelible characters and infectious drama, and a flat-out great read.”

Thank you to Leif Enger, Kim Barnes, and Alan Heathcock for these wonderful endorsements! And most of all, thanks to Russell Rowland for writing such a powerful work of fiction.
